Humphrey de Bohun, 3rd Earl of Hereford, 2nd Earl of Essex 1) Born between 1249 and 1251 2) 3) Died 31 Dec 1298 1) Notes: Humphrey was heavily involved in the welsh wars reconquering Marcher lands. Until King Edward confirmed the Magna Carta, Humphrey engaged in direct opposition to his policies. Subsequently he supported the King with his war in Scotland, at least for a while. He subsequently withdrew unsatisfied that the King was upholding the charter. Married/ Related to: Maud de Fiennes Daughter of Ingeram de Fiennes and Isabelle de Conde. Born ± 1254 Died 26 Nov 1298 Walden Abbey, Essex, England, approximately 44 years Child: 1. Humphrey de Bohun, 4th Earl of Hereford, 3rd Earl of EssexBorn ± 1275 1) Died 16 Mar 1321/22, approximately 46 years Notes: The Papal Dispensation for Humphrey and Elizabeth's marriage describes them as related in the third and fourth degree. There is no obvious third and fourth degree shared match. There is however a probable fourth and fourth degree match - Aubrey Ii of Dammartin. |
