Thomas How 3)Born ± 1757 Little Torrington, Devon, England 1) Baptised 12 May 1757 Little Torrington, Devon, England 1) Died ± Jan 1830 Taddiport, Little Torrington, Devon, England, approximately 73 years 4) Buried 24 Jan 1830 Little Torrington, Devon, England 4) Occupation: between 1779 and 1807 Little Torrington, Devon, England; Yeoman 5) 6) Notes: Thomas took on an apprentice in 1807: "Mary Maryvell, age 9, daughter of the late Ann, bound to Thomas How, yeoman 1807". There would seem to be two Thomas How in Little Torrington, around the same time. The following baptisms exist in the register: Katharine, to Thomas and Mary, 1780 Richard, to Thomas and Mary, 1774 Mary, to Thomas and Mary, 1772 Given the Thomas who marries Mary, has children as early as 1772, the 1757 baptism is unlikely to for that Thomas - though Mary could theoretically be a first wife. That scenario seems very unlikely - given the age issue, and given that Katharine would have been baptised after Thomas's re-marriage, and given that there is no burial for a Mary How c1779. | |||
