Family

woman Melisende of Châteaudun, Viscountess of Châteaudun‏‎ 1)
Born ‎± 950‎ 1)
Died ‎after 20 Jul 1031‎ 1)

Married/ Related
to:

man Fulcois of Mortagne, Count of Mortagne‏‎ 2)
Died ‎before 1032 2)

Notes: Fulcois of Mortagne only appears in one record; a charter for Rotrou his possible grandson where he is described as "avus". Given this mention, Geoffrey (Routrou's father) is probably his son. Hugh du Perche may also be his son as the charter mentions Rotrou's "avunculus" Hugh. Whether Hugh and Hugh du Perche are the same individal is unclear - there is circumstantial evidence linking them but it is relatively weak. While these connections may be right, equally they all may be wrong.

Some secondary sources go a step further - identifying Fulcois as a son of Geoffrey of Chateaudun and Hildegarde. Here, there is some evidence, but again it's inconclusive and it would be equally plausible that Geoffrey and Hildegarde were Melisende's parents.

Children:

1.
man Geoffrey II of Châteaudun, Viscount of Châteaudun‏ 3)
Died ‎between 1038 and 1039 Chartres, Eure-et-Loir, Centre, France 3)
2.
man Hugh du Perche‏ 4)
Born ‎± 970‎ 4)
Died ‎after 993‎ 4)

Notes: Various theories identify Hugh's ancestry as the Counts of Perche and/or Viscounts of Chateaudun. The evidence, however, is far from satisfactory.
