 Margaret Legassick 1)Notes: There are two marriages for a Henry Witherton between 1718 and 1730. Henry Witherton and Jane May in 1719 Henry Witherton and Margaret Legasick in 1726 Two Henry Withertons are buried in the 1740s (1744 and 1749). There is one Henry Witherton baptism (1700) The above evidence can be interpreted two-ways. Either there are two Henry Witherton, each with their own marriages and deaths. Or there's one Henry Witherton, who marries Jane who then dies (no burial observed) and then remarries to Margaret. The latter formulation has been selected here as all baptiisms at Dean Prior between 1719 and 1726 are uniquely named. --- The Legassicks also appear as Gaslekes and Gassaks. The surname was probably pronounced Le Gassick. It occurs in and around Dean Prior from the 16th to the 19th century. Margaret is either born in 1696 to John Legasick or in 1694 to William Legasick.
